Okay so lemme explain how he did it, like I said before there are two ways to make nen strong. One is a strict condition and the other one is death, Gon literally sacrificed his life, his nen and everything to get to his prime where he would be strong enough to defeat Pitou which is why his hair and everything grew. Gon could've achieved this with 10-20 years of back breaking training every single day, this is the same guy who learnt nen and it's basics in just few hours. Pitou was able to damage Gon because after death her nen become even stronger, this is a key information in this anime.
